Non-goals

So, I realised my list of goals was a mess. I’m now working on making them doable, measurable or clearly defined, because most of them weren’t. I’m deleting some goals, adding some new, and I hope I’ll be able to post more often when I’ve done all that.
Something different. We’ve been put into the masterlist of Day Zero Project! (we’ve been accepted a long time ago, but that doesn’t matter haha)
goals
Don’t you just love us, hahaha (read the irony here, well, not irony, but hey, I’m not quite serious XD)

Hi there! I haven’t done any new goals, I though have updated some. I still have twittered every week [3/143 now ;)] and I’ve watched a couple of movies again, ‘The Day After Tomorrow’, since I don’t count the ‘The’s, that’s a D. I’ve been to the theatre three times and saw ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’, ‘The Proposal’ and ‘Ghosts of Girlfriends Past’.
D: Day after Tomorrow, The
G: Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
J: Just my Luck
P: Proposal, The
T: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

I also wanted to share something with you. I just found this and I think it’s worth reading for everyone. This is the site where I got it from.

Even in times of financial uncertainty, it’s always important to keep things in perspective – 10 Reasons why you are rich

  1. You didn’t go to sleep hungry last night.
  2. You didn’t go to sleep outside.
  3. You had a choice of what clothes to wear this morning.
  4. You hardly broke a sweat today.
  5. You didn’t spend a minute in fear.
  6. You have access to clean drinking water.
  7. You have access to medical care.
  8. You have access to the Internet.
  9. You can read.
  10. You have the right to vote.

Some might say you are rich, so remember to be grateful for all the things you do have.

I think it’s a very wise article. Think about it.

Hi dudes en dudettes! As my companions introduced themselves, let’s introduce myself too. I’m Saskia and I was dropped on the earth on 29th of September, 1992, which makes me 16 right now. I love to listen to music, ’cause I’m an addict pahahaha. I’m addicted to McFly (see title of this post) and Panic at the Disco, but unfortunately the last one splitted up, so now I don’t know if I still like their music. We’ll see when the new album comes out (or the new single, which is going to drop about the end of August this year, yay!). Luckily, McFly is working on a new album, and they’re saying (through their twitters) it’s going to be awesome!  I have a whole sh*tload of bands I like, but I’m not going to bore you with that. You’ll still be reading at this hour tomorrow hehe (okay that was a bit excessive, but you know what I mean, right?).
Things I love to do in life are hanging out with friends (which I can’t all the time, since I live outta town, seriously, it sucks living so far away from friends. I can’t even get there with one busline?!?!), listening to music (McFly most of the time, lately hehe), drawing, cycling (since I actually can again after 3 months! :D), watching youtube movies, doing stuff on the computer, etc etc. Everything a normal teenager enjoys I guess (except drinking loads of alcohol XD I’m not that kind of person, I can have fun on my own, I don’t need the alcohol).
I can laugh my ass off with the stupidest things XD It’s really annoying though, laughing when nobody else is. I could put here a whole list of funny movies on youtube, but it is one of my goals to make the list so I won’t post it yet (just because it isn’t there yet, haha). My youtube favorites count 224 videos, so I have to sort them out once.

That’s also the reason why I wanted to start with Day Zero project. I have so much things in mind to do once,  but I never get to do them actually. Not only things I háve to do, but also things I wánt to do. The temptation to give some examples is so huge right now, but I promised to myself not to post my list, since the others aren’t doing it either (: I hope I will finish all my goals, which is ofcourse also the main goal of this project.

That’s it for now, you’ll get to know me better through my posts (:

p.s. Boogie Boogie Hedgehog!

In less than two weeks I’m going on a trip with my parents and my two older brothers. We’ll do it by car, which means that we’ll drive all the way from the Netherlands to beautiful Prague in the Czech Republic. We’ll stay there for one week, next we’ll move on to the adorable Vienna in Austria. That will also be a one weeks visit when we move further to the beach of Croatia. With these three countries to visit (for the very first time!), it also means visiting a huge variation on cultures, environment and people in three weeks. Thus I’ve decided this will be a perfect time for me to work on my goals. I already know that there are some goals that I can accomplish on this trip, and I’m planning to do so too. I’ll see if I can complete some before I go, but I won’t promise anything. I’m not the kind of person who likes to rush things, and that’s why I won’t force myself to do so. Eventually I’m supposed to like to work on my goals! Anyway that’s how I think about it.  When I’ll come back from from my trip I’ll inform you of all my interesting goal and non-goal activities. Have a nice holiday. 😀

xx Michelle

Hello! Let me introduce myself, ahum, I’m Michelle, a sixteen year old girl living in the Netherlands. My ancestors are from India, which explains my looks ^^. The things I like to do.. are.. reading Manga(!!), listening to music (I love the Arctic Monkeys and many many other bands), playing the piano and of course I like to hang out with my dear friends. I heard about the Project Day Zero from Nina, and I got excited about it immediately;  I’m the type of person who doesn’t finish stuff. Like I’ve written in the past numbers of unfinished short stories, which is a shame, because I knów I could finish it. But maybe I’m just too lazy? 😛 Anyway, this project is for me a way to do the things I’ve always wanted to do ánd finish them, to overcome my fears, to get more selfconfidence and better express myself so I can show the world: Thís is Michelle!

Although I love to type in English, if you notice faults, please tell me about them and I’ll correct them. Thank you 🙂

Is there more to tell about me? Yes there is! But I have a feeling that you’ll get to know me better better in the future, when I’ve posted more, euh, posts 😀

xx Michelle

Edit: But if you can’t wait for that, you can also check my Twitter account, which is Michellinie.

Hi! Nina here! This is my first post and since I haven’t accomplished a goal yet, I should tell you something about myself. So, where should I begin? Not that there’s so much to tell… I’m a 16 year old girl who lives in the Netherlands, like my two friends. I participate in the Day Zero Project, because I’m always procrastinating, everything. Maybe the project will help me to just do what I want and to go for it. Besides that, I hope I’ll get better in writing in English. While reading my pieces, you’ll discover a lot of mistakes. My excuses, I really try to write faultless. If I keep making the same mistake, I would like you to explain what I’m doing wrong and how I should do it instead. Thanks. 🙂

Think I stop here. You’ll get to know me better when you keep reading my posts. You can recognize them by the tag Nina. While I expect my friends’ posts are worth the reading too.

x Nina

Edit: I want to thank the following websites for inspiration: Codeforsomething.com, because of this and this post, and I also want to thank Keri Smith for her 100 ideas.

Edit2: I’ve added a photo of me. And yes, I’m posing, haha.

Today, we have officially started our adventure through the world of Day Zero Project. I haven’t done any big assignments today, but I have uploaded my twitter, which is one of my goals to do: upload twitter every week! So far, I’m at 1/143 😉 Which is quite obvious, since I’ve started today, hehe. My twitter account is Saskinee, if you’re interested (not that I post very interesting things, but anypooh). I won’t post here every week to say that I’ve uploaded my twitter, but once in a while I’ll tell you my ‘score’.

To let you know: we calculated 1001 days further, and our end date is 16th of april 2012.

Also, you may find some non-goals items on this blog. If we find something interesting we want to share with you, we will definitely do! We will sort them by our categories, ‘goals’ and ‘non-goals’. The names speak for themselves. With the tag option, we will sort the goals per person.

xoxo, Saskia
