September 2009

I’ve been overexcited the past few days – I’ve done this goal three times 😀 All of the results are from the magazine ‘Fancy’, which is a Dutch girls magazine. Doing that, I’m completing another goal too: recycling old magazines! (:

My results:

I think they’re pretty much like I wanted them to work out (:

ps. I used Rollip to make these pretty polaroids 😉

I like this goal. I used to draw a lot, but at the time all I do is go to school, work, computer and sleep. I have to practise my drawing skills and that’s what I do completing this task.

This is the first portrait, which I made because I love the girl Shini and her photos and her website and her clothes… Her face is beautyful and I wanted to try to put it onto paper. So here’s the result:

I know it isn’t perfect and there are some things like the forehead that have the wrong proportions, but still I like the painting and I’m proud of it. Sorry for the big copyright on it, but I just had to do that…

And again a post about a failure. I really did my best to avoid chocolate, but it didn’t help. When I don’t go to the chocolate, the chocolate comes to me and yells ‘Eat me! I’m so tasty, I’m delicious!’. I’ve done this for three weeks, in which I ate three times a little bit chocolate (it were three special occasions, sort of) and after these three weeks of suffering I was done with it. I wanted grains of chocolate (‘hagelslag’) on my bread in the morning and I wanted to eat Oreos (did you know these are vegan?!). So I haven’t finished the goal. Maybe I’ll try it again later, but for now I leave it like this.

Determined to continue with my goals, I decided to go with #44 Don’t curse for a month.  Cursing is something that everyone does once in a while, especially when you’re irritated or angry. Because this monday the new school year started, I decided to begin it fresh. Or well, I didn’t exactly start monday, because that was the introduction day. And also not Tuesday, because that was when the lessons started again and I could feel that I would need my curse words. So Wednesday it was. But nót cursing seems a lot harder than I would’ve ever imagined! Especially in the morning, when you also have gym class (yuk). I really did begin the day good; I though about every word I said  and replacements of the curse words. But apparently that wasn’t enough. Because the class hadn’t even started for ten minutes and there I was: ‘What the F*ck!’ ‘Shit! I cursed!’ Oops.. two times in a row, not exactly like I had it planned. But, as optimistic as ever, I decided it was just the first day and I could just begin again the day after. And that didn’t went well either. ‘But there’s always tomorrow!’ And so I started my non-cursing month again today. Sadly enough I realized when I got up and looked at the alarm clock that I was running late. So without thinking about it I opened my big mouth.
I’ve really surprised myself these 3 days; I never knew I cursed this much, that it would even be so hard for me to stop it!
Tomorrow I’ll start again with good will, it’s weekend so I won’t have much to complain about ;). And I’m staying home with my parents, who can keep an eye on me, haha. (Like I ever curse near them! That’s why I didn’t do this goal while I was on vacation. It would be way to easy 🙂 )

Actually this post is a little late. But just forgive me for being such a lazy person.
This Saturday I went to the ‘Uitmarkt in Amsterdam. It’s an annual festival, totally free and totally fun. I’ve been there some times before and luckily I went this year too with my parents. Usually it all happens on the same big plaza, where’s lots of grass to walk, sit and lie on. And there were many stages there, with lots of performing artists, little boots where you can take a workshop and of course many many sheds with goodies. 😀 I love those goodies, even though I usually don’t do anything with it afterwards.
This year they did it different; It didn’t all happen on the same plaza, but all of the stages were just scattered around the center of Amsterdam.Which sucks, because you have to walk (sometimes a lot!) to go from one stage to another, which means you can’t see all the performances you want.

But I did have fun, may be it’s just because of the mood that usually comes with this festival. Or it’s because I saw the same day that the Arctic Monkeys are having a concert in Amsterdam in a couple of months. 😛

Actually, it was toilet paper and I placed it in a flower press machine thing, but the idea is quite the same. First I searched in the garden for some nice flowers and leaves and then I’ve made sort of a collage out if it, which I put in the flower press. And this is the result!I hoped that it should become one big paper made of pressed flowers, but they are easily to part and there are a few empty spaces in my paper. Next time I’ll take more flowers and maybe some glue to make the real paper thing. I’ll do some research before I start. I guess my mother doesn’t like the image of me grabbing everything colourful in our garden, but it’s worth it. (Actually, I don’t like the idea either. I love nature.)

As a child I did this some times, but that was a long time ago and I wanted to do it again, so that’s why I’ve put it in my Project Day Zero. I like this sort of creative things, I should do them more often.

I can honestly recommend you to press flowers between wax paper and place in a book to dry, or just use toilet paper, like I mentioned before.

p.s. This is the 8th task I did! And no, I don’t know all the names of the flowers I used, but that’s another task, hehe. Aren’t you curious now?

Last weekend I went to the beach with a good friend. We walked by the sea and we walked over the jetty, which had two floors. The first floor was a terrace, from which we could overlook the sea pretty well. When we were at the end, we went downstairs, where little souvenir shops were. There was also a photo box! I was hoping for that! We went in it. It was very small. It always seemed nice to me to go in there with my five best friends, but my view changed a little. These photo boxes are made for just one people, with two it’s already full! We’ve made one photo which we got four times, it was impossible to make four different ones. But hey, this is fun too! We like how our skin looks healthy on the pictures, haha.

I’m the left one for the viewer.
